So, I had a great career, lead a very busy professional life working long hours — living a corporate life. Then, I had a baby…. life changed, it wasn’t supposed to. 


My body changed, my sleep changed, my hormones changed…I changed. I didn’t know what had come over me. I had a life plan, goals and focus. Now I wanted different things, for different reasons and I wanted this beautiful change, but along with it came an awakening. 

I couldn’t keep living my corporate life with these changes. My health was suffering and I needed answers I wasn’t getting. I had abdominal pain and bloating, fatigue, weight that just wouldn’t come off no matter what I tried and my thinking was foggy. These were changes that I was NOT willing to live with despite doctors telling me that they were normal after having children — that my symptoms were common.

I decided to take my health into my own hands and educate myself on ways to support my body. I have noticed improved energy, weight loss, clearer thinking, glowing skin and less pain. Looking towards the root cause of my symptoms and learning to manage stress has put me on the path to healing my own body. I still consider myself to be a work in progress and I am grateful to have the tools and knowledge that will support me in optimizing my health. I am honoured to be able to share this information with my clients, guide them with their health struggles and help them rebuild their health too. 

EDUCATION.

After graduating with a BSc. in Science from the University of Windsor, I graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York. I learned innovative coaching methods, practical lifestyle management techniques and over 100 dietary theories. I also studied at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition, the most established science based Canadian natural health school, where I learned to connect the symptoms experienced to the systems of the body and then balance the systems through whole foods for preventative health. I most recently trained with Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride to become a Certified Gut and Psychology Syndrome Practitioner. I am a Reiki Master and can work with a client’s energy if requested.

PENNY DEJAGER

Before you trust your own health and wellness journey to any practitioner or therapist, it is valuable to know their personal journey. I am often asked what lead me to the education I invested in and how has my life experience to date shaped who I am today as a passionate Nutrition and Wellness Coach.

All my life I have been involved in sport and activity. I also have a strong love for singing and music. Both have taught me a lot about the human body and how important it is to take care of ourselves at any age. Taking a Bachelor of Physical Education/Kinesiology was a natural step for me out of high school, as I wanted to know more about the human body in motion and how to help others with their own fitness and wellness. Kinesiology is the study of the human body in motion. I am fascinated by how the body systems work together, whether you are not very active or are very active. Moving every day is important! I had a rewarding career with the YMCA in Fitness Management for many years helping others to reach their full potential every day.

After having 3 beautiful boys and being a stay at home mother for 15 years, I found myself searching to re-connect with my own body and to feel stronger heading into my 40’s. It has always been natural for me to want to help others heal and grow into their best version of themselves. In 2012 I graduated as a Registered Massage Therapist and was eager to work with people to make a difference in their health. I have a thriving massage therapist business out of my home and just love it!

Fast forward to now…many of my massage therapy clients come to me with symptoms that are not always explained by only the muscular and skeletal systems. I found myself researching and reading about other ways to assist my clients to feel better. Nutrition wasn’t a topic that was covered in much depth in either my BPE or RMT programs so that is what lead me to the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition (CSNN). I graduated with my diploma with honors in Fall 2018 as a Certified Holistic Nutritional Consultant! I am so excited to work with people to help them discover the healing powers of natural, whole and good quality food. The way of looking at each individual as a unique biochemical being is so relevant today. Using Holistic Nutrition helps not only the body but also the mind and spirit.

That is a lot of information about my educational journey but I do have a personal story too. My hopes are that you will see that I am very understanding and empathetic to many of the symptoms you may be experiencing on a daily basis. Having no energy, feeling overwhelmed, having trouble losing weight etc. don’t have to be your norm. You can and will feel better! My personal story is full of life stresses like divorce, kids with learning disabilities, bouts of adrenal fatigue, peri-menopausal issues and aging parents. It is all just life stuff, but learning to take care of you first is an important take away.

The priorities I have in wanting to help you are:

  1. Getting to the root cause of your symptoms

  2. Giving you lots of nutrition and wellness education

  3. Helping you to achieve self-discovery, self-advocacy and even more importantly, self-love
